LPCA's Primary Care Statewide Srategic Plan

The Statewide Strategic Plan (SSP) is a process that LPCA is participating in to develop a Five-Year Growth and Resource Plan for increasing access and reducing health disparities. The development and implementation of the SSP is in the context of President George W. Bush Administration's initiative to expand health centers by:
  • impacting 1200 communities (630 new access points and 570 expansions of existing sites) and 6 million people.
  • using 20% of appropriations for Dental and Behavioral Health Services; 55% for urban/rural access and 45% for service expansions.
  • strengthening existing health centers, manage growth of new and manage quality improvement in all health centers.
The SSP is a dynamic and iterative process to:
  • Analyze State's unmet needs
  • Plan for new locations/expanded access
  • Identify resource requirement
  • Engage in networking to develop integrated systems of care
The SSP process complements LPCA's existing strategic planning, market analyses and community development activities.
