This presentation will explore learning-science–backed microlearning strategies that improve patient understanding of medications, strengthen trust, and increase follow-through. Attendees will leave with a simple, practical framework and ready-to-use examples that can be immediately applied in both clinical and community settings.

Dr. Takova Wallace-Gay is an Associate Professor at the Tyler School of Medicine at The University of Texas at Tyler, where she also serves as Director of Interprofessional Education and coordinates pharmacology. She is a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist with clinical experience in family medicine and primary care. Her professional and research interests focus on medication and health literacy, diabetes and cardiovascular disease management, and improving outcomes in underserved populations. Dr. Wallace-Gay is the founder of Bridge to Better Meds™*, a medication literacy program dedicated to empowering individuals and communities to better understand and manage their medications through clear, compassionate education.
