
FQHC 101: Basics for Health Center Staff
Description:
Designed for all health center staff, FQHC 101 provides a complete overview of the key components of the Health Center Program.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain an understanding of Federally Qualified Health Centers, why they exist, and how they differ from other safety net providers
- Identify types of health centers
- Increase awareness of HRSA requirements (sliding fee scale, UDS, On-Site Visit protocol)
- Become familiar with the shared language of FQHCs (acronyms), common programs (340B, FTCA, IPA, ACO), major challenges, the role of supporting organizations, and accreditation initiatives
Primary Audiences:
- New health center staff
- Any staff with little to no experience working in an FQHC or CHC
- Staff that need a basic, foundational understanding of the unique practice environment of an FQHC
